Join us for the Wednesday Group Readings hosted by Paul Maddern. This is a special set of readings from members, past and present, of the Poetry Workshop founded by Ciaran Carson, and marking his incredible contribution to the work of other poets through his leadership of the weekly Wednesday Group.
The evening will feature readings from just a few of the many writers Ciaran worked with over the years including Paul Jeffcut, Ray Givans, Maureen Boyle, Nancy Graham, Mary Montague, Emma Must, Rachael Hegarty, Maureen Hill, Paula Cunningham, Sheila Llewellyn, Eamon Cunningham, Matt Kirkham, and Maura Johnston.
This event is part of Last Night's Fun: Ciaran Carson - A Conference and Commemoration presented by the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen's.
This conference and commemoration celebrates the work of Ciaran Carson, esteemed poet, writer and musician, Professor and founding Director of the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s, whose high standards of excellence, and high-spirited blend of local rootedness and global openness (in poet Alan Gillis’s words) he personified.
