For this special edition of It Goes As Follies we will be helping to launch Cailín Sinséir Bhéal Feirste: The Belfast Gingerbread Girl by Marianne McShane:

Out of St George’s Market into Belfast City, the Gingerbread Girl ran, away from wee Mary Ann. She’s a rascal, she’s a dancer, no one can catch her - not the dog, not the rat, not the gull. The wee Gingerbread Girl gets away from them all on her wild romp through Belfast. But near The Big Fish, the Gingerbread Girl meets a sly fox. Has her luck run out at last?

Éalaíonn an Cailin Sinséir ó Mháire Áine agus imíonn léi ar rancás trí chathair Bhéal Feirste. Rógaire agus rinceoir atá róghasta dóibh go léir – don mhadadh, don fhrancach, don fhaoileán. Ar bhruach na habhann, in aice leis an Iasc Mhór, castar madadh rua glic uirthi. An mbeidh sí in ann éalú an uair seo?

Bring your children and an instrument along to this informal afternoon of tunes, stories and poems in The Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen's.

We'll make the tea and provide the biscuits. There is unrestricted weekend parking at the McClay Library, only a few minutes away from the Centre.
