An open call for writers to contribute to our extracurricular programme in 2026.
The Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s has a busy and varied programme of events and extracurricular study throughout the year. Occasionally paid opportunities arise for guest writers to contribute to this programme as guest lecturers, workshop facilitators, or performers, and we want to do all we can to ensure we make the most of these opportunities.
This is an open call for writers who would like to contribute to our extracurricular programme, lend their voices and share expertise with brilliant students across 2026. Depending on the programme of activity, payments may be fixed fees (eg £150 for a two-hour workshop) or in line with Teaching Assistant hourly rates. All rates and delivery objectives will be discussed and agreed in advance.
Please submit an up-to-date CV, with a record of publications and relevant professional experience, alongside a brief cover letter stating your research interests. If you are proposing a specific lecture, workshop or performance, you may include this in your cover letter.
We are particularly interested in hearing from those from under-represented communities, and early career writers and researchers. We may prioritize those who have completed postgraduate study at the School of Arts, English and Languages at Queen’s.
Submit to: r.brown@qub.ac.uk
Deadline: Rolling throughout 2026
